All Saints Library Exhibits
"I want to tell you how spiritually
nourishing and inspiring the exhibit of the Saints of North America has been
to me. I spent much of my free time on our 6-day visit reading the exhibit,
making sure I read through the whole thing, studying the pictures and
maps, before we returned to our home Tuesday. I have been struggling with
spiritual dryness and apathy for a little while now, and the exhibit and our
conversations have made me realize afresh what a treasure the Faith is ...,
I have begun to pray more since our trip...Please pray for me..."
"Thank you for creating such an
edifying exhibit, and all the other service you give out of love for
Christ."
P. B.
The Library frequently develops displays related to diocesan and local parish events, interesting topics, feast day's, and Orthodox Study classes.
The pictures below are of the current display lining the walls of the upstairs hallway in the local parish hall. This exhibit of 15 panels "Ye Saints of North America" chronicles the lives and achievements of Orthodox Christians, including the patron saints of the diocesan library and of the local parish, who brought Orthodox Christianity to America, starting with the first Russian Orthodox missionaries to the peoples of Alaska. The exhibit was mounted to celebrate All Saints of North America Orthodox Church's parish feast day in 2008.

Most of the pictures, maps, and texts for this exhibit are drawn from materials in the library. A few items are on loan to the library for the exhibit by parishioners of All Saints of North America Orthodox Church.

The exhibit also presents books by and about the Saints of North America as shown at right below.

Here is the annotated bibliography compiled by the library staff to accompany the exhibit: Ye Saints of North America: a reading list. This bibliography gathers together all the books and articles in our library on the eleven saints displayed in this exhibit.
These are photos of our 2008 exhibit "The Anaginoskomena, Books of the Bible sometimes called the Apocrypha." This exhibit of Anglophone Bibles was organized in conjunction with Fr. John's nine-week course on the Deuterocanonical books of the Septuagint (LXX) Old Testament. An annotated bibliography, compiled by the library staff accompanied the course. In addition, parishioners received weekly emails linking them to on-line resources relevant to Fr. John's Bible study. Each class was recorded using a digital recorder, and then put to CD. The CDs, together with Fr. John's notes and student notes are assembled in a notebook with a word processed cover resulting in a complete package of the course.
